so, yes, it's working, and here i sit down, and write to - i don't know - approximately no-one? interesting. and there's everything in the world and nothing to say. i'm tired. it's hot. finally, it's hot. somewhere in my youth - or childhood - i must have done something good, for today, for the first day since approximately may 13th - ish - , the clouds over the western isles parted, the bracing northerly wind finally dropped and Iona was bathed in the most beautiful bright light in the world. perhaps not in the world. beautiful anyway.

and why did the sun come out today, for the first time since may 13th, or thereabouts? or if not why did it come, then why am i so happy about it?
what dumb questions. it's the end of july, for a start, may 13th (around then, at any cost) was over two and a half months ago (approximately). It's time for sun. We deserve it. Dagnammit.

And because i was taking 89 over-active 14-18 year olds to the beach at the north end of the island to draw the universe in the sand.
it went well, i think. some of them - at any rate - drew a donkey, which is a little like a universe, except with bigger ears.

i've to go and eat fish fingers.
